“The things that motivate me are the kids. When the kids first start getting radiation they are very anxious. As a nurse you get to see the journey they take and them getting more accepting of treatment. Before they would be clinging on to mom and dad, being scared of going into the room. Then many of them get excited and want to “go see the rocket ship””

“I love to give compassionate care to patients. Some patients don’t have a support system and I feel like we are their family. This is like their second home. It means I need to go the extra mile and give 110% so that they can get through this part of their journey. I make sure they’ll come back”

“I always go back to the pediatric patients. You hear stories where at one point they aren’t walking, then in 6 months they become a completely different person. They go from being dependent on their peg tube, braces on their legs, to a success story over at Childrens Hospital. I remember those moments the most”
